Home Safety Network

Most of the evening was focused on develping a mission statement. First we brainstormed words and phrases we all felt were important to our mission. Next, we discussed our goals and purpose, as well as the purpose of the mission statement, itself. We came to some agreements about the goals of the Home Safety Network-namely, to educate parents about underage drinking and drug use, raise awareness to the dangers of underage drinking and drug use, and expand our network. We began to formulate a mission statement, but due to time constraints, agreed to finish it the next time we meet.

Ann spoke briefly about Westborough's Commitment Night at the high school. Discussed other opportunities to expose Westborough parents to the Home Safety Network. Agreed to having the meeting in June in Westborough. Will continue to discuss ways to publicize the HSN to Westborough parents.

Ann described the progress being made on the web site. Thank you to Adam Winter for hosting us and helping to get us up and running. The web site should be live soon.

Ann also discussed importance of having a pledge form from anyone who would like to be listed in our directory. The form has a check box re: whether you want your info. made public ( on the web site).

Next meeting will be Tuesday, May 16^th at 7:00 at the Algonquin Cafeteria.
